Road Trip Recharge #7: Laramie, WY (aka Road Trip Re-route)

LOCATION: Fairfield Inn & Suites

MILES DRIVEN SINCE LAST CHARGE:  168.8 miles since last charge.

KWH USED:  61.6 kWh used.

TYPE OF CHARGER: Tesla Supercharger

LOCATION DETAILS: The Supercharger is located in between a couple of nice hotels – the Fairfield Inn & Suites, and the Comfort Inn.

WHAT WE DID WHILE CHARGING: This was a short charge, so we called home quick and caught up with our families.

TIME START: 4:45 p.m.

TIME END: 5:10 p.m.

LENGTH OF CHARGE: 25 minutes

WH/MILE: 365 Wh/mile

HOW WE’RE FEELING: Grateful we listened to our car! According to the Tesla’s navigation system, had we listened to our original route and went to Rawlins instead of Laramie, we would have been at -19% charge, which would have added all sorts of issues to our expedition. We are glad to be safe in Laramie with a quick charge before a short drive to Rawlins. Can you imagine getting stranded in an area that looks like this? No cars or buildings for miles and miles.

OTHER NOTES: The drive from Lusk to Rawlins was pretty cool once we got into the mountains. We faced some curvy, hilly roads, which was a nice change from the long flat roads we have grown so used to.

  1. Good to listen to the car sometimes. I certainly don’t listen to Siri because some routes I do know and she gets things wrong sometimes.

    The pizza looked wonderful!

All the information is so helpful! Thank you for keeping the blog posts coming!
